BRADFIELD Band Saturday 8th June Venue: Avenue Bar 9:00 pm |

From tender ballads to uptempo acoustic rock, an emotionally charged night in store from Waterford's own Joni Mitchell. |
It's
always a pleasure to welcome Marion Bradfield, a favourite with Folk Club
regulars. Waterford born songwriter Marian, now based in Donegal, has been
compared to Joni Mitchell with her brand of emotionally charged, original
real-life songs and warm audience rapport not to mention her striking looks and
blonde hair!
Bradfield's
debut album "Marian" was released to widespread critical acclaim in
1993. TV and Radio appearances followed on the strength of its success,
including a spot on the Pat Kenny Show and culminated with Marian playing
support to Altan at Belfast Queen's Festival.
Her
second album "Tonight is Just for Us" was also nominated for awards.
Her
latest CD, "The Emperor's Field" features top session musicians,
and with a growing reputation
internationally, Marian's songs can be found on the "Celtic Women" compilation CDs
representing Ireland's finest female songwriters.
Accompanied
by a new band, Marian will be performing songs from her impressive repertoire,
from Marian's own tender love songs such as "Deep Blue Sleep", wry
ballads like "Bedroom Eyes" or catchy uptempo acoustic rock songs like
"Adrenaline Ride" as well as lively cover versions of popular songs
like Stephen Stills' "Love The One You're With".
